Safeguarding Statement

Safeguarding is a key priority for everybody at Sketty Primary School.  We see it as our core business.  Our school is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of every one of our children.  We acknowledge that all children have a right to protection and will take action to safeguard their wellbeing.

Our whole school attendance target for 2015/16 is 96.4%.  This is a challenging target but one we are fully committed to achieving.  Please help us to achieve this target by ensuring your child/children attend school regularly and are only absent when absolutely necessary.

No absences due to pupils being taken on holidays during term times will be authorised by the Headteacher, other than in very exceptional circumstances.  The Local Authority introduced fixed penalty notices for regular non – attendance at school in January 2015.  This means that parents may now be fined for their child(ren’s) regular non attendance at school.  The local code of conduct is available on

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
