CHESS NEWS

Congratulations to Sketty School Chess Team for winning the West Wales Junior Chess League for the 3rd year running.

In a nail-biting final match with St Josephs Tristan Xuan drew his game after an hour of tense play and this meant a 2 1/2 – 1 1/2 victory.

Thank you to all the squad who have played on a Wednesday night since October.

The course is suitable for all children aged 4-11 and runs from 8:45 – 15:30 Daily (Mini stars – 4 year olds finish at 13:00, SuperStars – aged 5+ finish at 15:30).

Netball News

On Thursday, Year 5 and Year 6 girls played netball against Gowerton and Pontarddulais. The A team lost a tough match against Pontarddulais but fought hard. The B team played very well with many of the girls making their netball debut! They won 10-0. Well done girls!

Sketty Primary School: Lunchtime Assistant

Closing date: 29/03/17. Salary: Scale 2, SCP 11 (£15,807) pro rata 5 hours a week 38 weeks a year.

Governors are seeking to appoint Lunchtime Assistant to join our team to provide support for pupils and staff during the serving of the midday meal.

The post involves keeping good order amongst pupils and to provide a safe environment during the serving of the midday meal, on the playground and inside the classrooms during wet playtimes.

Working hours: 11.55 a.m. – 12.55 p.m. Monday to Friday
