Headteacher Weekly News – 13.01.17

Children nominated for Good Work merit in Achievement Assembly this week were:  Amelie Hawkins, Luc Johnson, Ethan Thomas, Elliott Lang, Mia White, Zac Beresford, Josh Bravey-Evans, Mahmut Ocak, Ebony Williams, Alma Abraham, Georgia Weston, Abigail Harrison, Josh Winstanley-Thomas and Ciaran Goggin.

Children nominated for demonstrating positive values were:  Eva Ellison, Sofia Dafydd, Joseph Kelly, Mia Nosnan-Croft, Kellan Heuberger, Daniel Bygate, Arian Afruz-Ali, Nofa Murad, Hannah Jones, Jay Samuel, Emlyn Haines, Tasmin Cole, Claudia Thomas and Brooke Furlong.

Open Days are being held next week.  This is an opportunity for the children to share their school work with you for the current academic year.   Nursery, Years 1, 3 & 5 Open Day is Tuesday 17th January; whilst Reception, Years 4 & 6 is Wednesday 18th January (please note Year 2 shared their work on the Fire of London afternoon before Christmas).   Open sessions are held from 9.00 a.m. – 9.30 a.m. and 2.50 p.m. – 3.20 p.m.  Please can parents wait either on the playground or in the Hall until 9 a.m. so the children can be registered in class first.

Year 1 will be visiting TESCO at Swansea Marina next week as part of their Topic ‘Supermarket’.   In addition, Year 5 will be visiting the National Art Gallery in Cardiff as part of their Topic ‘Gallery’.  All the children are looking forward to their visits very much.

Year 2 will be starting a ten week programme of Kerbcraft.  This initiative is run by the City and  Council of Swansea and will teach the children very important skills about road safety.

Mr Edwards will be holding a SENCo forum next Friday 20th January at 2 p.m.   Room tbc.  All welcome.
