The school rugby teams have been very busy  this week.  We took part in the 10 a side South Wales Police tournament at Dunvant R.F.C. on Monday.  The team beat Llwynderw and Grange to qualify for the cup stage.  The boys battled bravely against very tough opposition in Pennard, Parkland and Bishopston schools and bowed out with pride intact.

We entered Year 5 and Year 6 teams into the Ian Thomas memorial 7 a side tournament at Cefn Cribbwr on Wednesday.  The Year 6 team beat Nottage three tries to one but lost to Pyle and Mynydd Cynffig in the group stage.  The Year 5 team performed excellently to win both group matches against Cefn Cribbwr and Pyle.  After a gallant effort, the side lost to a very strong Nottage team in the final.  We are very proud of the efforts of all the players.

After strong performances for the school and county, Morgan Willis and Caitlin Evans have been selected for the West Glamorgan Cross County team.   They raced against Dyfed Schools at Margam Park on Saturday.   Morgan finished 14th and Caitlin 19th in large fields of over 50.  Well done both of you for your excellent achievements!

We had a ‘Onesie’ day on Wednesday to raise money for supporting people with Autism.    In addition, we raised £300 on  Red Nose day.   Thank you very much for your support.

The PTA held the KS2 film night last night.  The children enjoyed the experience very much.  Thank you to the PTA for their tireless work in providing opportunities for the children and raising much needed funds for the school.

Year 1 VE/SW held their family assembly this morning, presenting their work on their Topic, ‘Supermarket’.   The children were excellent in everything they did – singing, speaking and performing.
