When faced with bad weather, the school will do all it can to remain open. However, no risks will be taken with pupil safety and I would like to remind you of our procedures for dealing with disruption caused by snow.
In the event that snow prevents the school from opening, we endeavour to ensure this information is communicated as quickly as possible. The decision to close the school will be communicated via text. Information will also be posted on the school website.
In some circumstances the decision is straightforward; in others the decision is difficult and has to be made on the best available information at the time, including staff ability to get to work. A decision will be communicated by 7.45 am at the latest.
In the event of school closure during the day, a text will be sent home. Supervision is arranged for any pupil who is unable to be picked up immediately. In the event of school closure during the day, phone lines become very busy and I request that, in such circumstances, you only contact the school when it is absolutely necessary.
Thank you in anticipation of your support to ensure the safety of the whole school community.
