Summer Workshops for Parent Carers

We are running a number of workshops over the next few weeks and would be grateful if you could pass on the details to parent carers who might find them useful. These workshops are being run in partnership with Contact for families with Disabled Children.   We have already run a ‘Money Matters’ workshop for children under 16 that concentrated on applying for DLA * which was excellent. There is another one soon this time for children approaching or over 16 years of age, who may be considering applying for PIP**.

Parent Carers and professionals can sign up to our mailing list to receive regular newsletters and receive information about future workshops and opportunities to influence positive change [here].

There is also a private parent carer Facebook group for parent carers only [here].

* DLA is the main benefit which supports children and their families with the extra costs that they incur due to the extra care needs due to additional needs or disability.

** PIP is the main benefit which supports young people and adults over the age of 16 and their families with the extra costs that they incur due to the extra care needs due to additional needs or disability.
