Children receiving merits for demonstrating positive values were Tristan Haines, Mehdi Hathaf, Ella Van Der Hart, Evie Dennis, Freddie Burgess, Jessica Roberts, Hayden Ventress-Brett, Dylan Gwynn and Isaac Thien.  Well done everybody and keep working hard.

Year 1 have visited TESCO at Swansea Marina this week.  They have learned lots about a supermarket.  They got to sit on the tills, taste lots of vegetables and even saw a fish being gutted!   Thank you to all the parent volunteers who accompanied the visit.

Year 5 have been to the National Art Gallery in Cardiff Bay today, as part of their Topic ‘Gallery’.  They had a wonderful day and the children’s behaviour was exemplary.

Thank you to all the parents/carers who came into school this week for Open Days.  The children enjoyed sharing their work with you very much.  Please liaise with your child’s class teacher to arrange a viewing if you weren’t able to come in this week and would like to do so.

The P.T.A. have been in the Co-op on a rota for the last couple of days, encouraging customers to sign up for the Co-op membership scheme and nominate Sketty School PTA as their chosen charity.  It costs £1 to join and members can receive 5% back when they buy Co-op own branded food, with 1% going to their chosen local community fund.   All monies raised will go towards a revamp of our Hall.  Our total currently stands at a healthy £950.  Our sincere thanks  to the members of the PTA who gave, and give, so generously of their own time for the benefit of the school.

Year 6 representatives have also been down to the store and demonstrated excellent communication skills when interacting with the customers.  Well done to all the Year 6 pupils who took part.

Have a lovely weekend.
